Lanaudière

Two Lanaudières in one

The south of the region, right next to Laval and Montreal, includes Terrebonne, Mascouche, Repentigny and L’Assomption: fast-growing suburban towns of single-family homes and new neighbourhoods.

Farther north, around Joliette, Rawdon and Saint-Lin-Laurentides, the land turns rural, then forested, with lakes and cottages. Autoroute 25 and Route 125 climb toward Rawdon; Autoroute 40 then 31 lead to Joliette.
