Three ways to get involved

Each option fits a different project. None is fixed in advance: the structure is defined together, with each party’s advisers.

The outline of a possible agreement, without a final commitment.

Step 6

Due diligence by your advisers, then a final agreement.

Getting support

In Quebec, Repreneuriat Québec (formerly the Centre de transfert d’entreprise du Québec) offers support services and confidential matchmaking for buying or selling a business. It is a good starting point for understanding the steps of a business transfer. Its website is in French.

Common questions

What people ask us

Is a complete takeover possible?

Yes. There is no rush and the business carries on, but its management will consider any serious proposal for a complete takeover.

Is this a public call for investment?

No. Nothing on this site is an offer or a solicitation to sell securities. Any agreement would be private, negotiated individually, in compliance with applicable law and with professional advisers.

What amount should I plan for?

No amount is published. The value and structure of an agreement are discussed after a confidentiality agreement is signed, based on the information shared.

Will my inquiry stay confidential?

Yes. Your inquiry is handled in confidence. Put ’Partnership’ in the subject line so your message is routed to management. A confidentiality agreement then protects both parties.

Do I need a background in moving?

No. Experience in management, transport or services helps, but each project is considered for what it brings.

I am outside Canada. Is this possible?

Yes, a person from outside Canada can acquire a business in Quebec or join one, subject to the applicable rules. Owning a business does not, however, give you the right to settle in Canada by itself. See our information page.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the option and on the checks to be done. We prefer to move in stages, without an imposed deadline.

Notice

This page is an invitation to talk. It is not an offer or a solicitation to sell securities. Any agreement would be private, negotiated individually and concluded with professional advisers, in compliance with applicable law.
